Here, There, Everywhere
Board Game

ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is neurodevelopmental disorder that is present in people of all ages. With ADHD, there's a lot of negative connotation associated with it which may lead to stereotypes regarding this disorder. This could impact the individual's everyday life and personal relationships. The goal of creating this game is to encourage communication between neurodivergent and neurotypicals and to help them understand one another better through play. As someone who was also diagnosed as ADHD, communication means a lot to me. The goal of this game is to help people understand that ADHD isn't something bad or scary, it's just that their brain works a little differently, just like all of us. This compact, fun, and educational game can be played and enjoyed by all ages.

USER JOURNEY
A day in the life of someone with ADHD

” ADHD isn’t just a struggle with attention, it comes with other strengths & weaknesses. What works for neurotypicals might not work for neurodivergent. It’s just learning how to work best for you. ”
PROTOTYPE #1
I first started my ideation process with creating a simple prototype with cardboard to simulate the play and the game design.

PROTOTYPE #2
I explored different ways to store the game so that it's compact and well designed. By this stage I was starting to figure out the game play rules.

PROTOTYPE #3
For my final prototype, I was able to finalize a compact design to store my game in. The box featured a double layer top that could be pieced together to make the game board. The pieces were kept simple and cute so that it can be appealing for players of all ages.

” Tactility and texture plays a huge role in stimulation for those who
have ADHD”
CONSTRUCTING THE FINAL
When executing my final design, game play and CMF played a huge importance in making this board game a successful design.
Game Board Layout

For the game layout, I made sure to keep it simple but fun. I used a pastel color palette to illustrate the layout to appeal to players of all ages.

BACK

The game consists of 50 unique hand drawn cards. There are 25 green cards and 25 red cards. The red is associated with the "negative" aspects that come with ADHD, while the green card contains the "superpowers" that come with ADHD.

CMF STUDY

For the CMF of this board game, I wanted to keep it simple and natural. I decided to opt for maple wood as the major material due to its durability and its light color that pairs well with the pastel color palette.
” I can relate to alot of the scenarios the cards are
describing and it seems to represent the spectrum of
experiences neurodivergent experience ”
- Christian Mutter (an instructor with ADHD)
