Kids' furniture and products are becoming more refined to complement adult living spaces. Products feature natural, untreated materials like cardboard, cork, and timber, with a more subdued color. MINIMALIST ANTHROPOMORPHISM

Minimalist anthropomorphism in product design feature human, animal-like traits into its design language, expression or interaction while keeping it minimalist and not overly cute and cartoonish. Soft tones with occasional pops of pantone colors are used instead of bright, toyetic colors, giving it a more mature and modern look.

Before starting anything, I wanted to make a list of all the supplies I might need to make it work.

MAKING THE BODY

Started off by lathing maple blocks into an egg-like shape. I tried to keep as close to the sketch as possible.

FIGURING OUT THE ELECTRONICS

The electronics was the tricky part. I first used one 3v battery, but since the wattage wasn't consistent, I ended up using a cell battery holder that could hold two batteries

Circuit Layout

The sensor's maximum sensing distance (7-8mm) so I had to make sure the thickness of the chicken's head didn't exceed that. After multiple tries, it finally worked!

INNER COMPONENTS

Went through multiple 3D printed parts to ensure that all the parts fit perfectly inside the chicken. used PETG as the filament due to the flexibility of the material.
